So you have mastered the electric guitar and the acoustic guitar, but you are looking for something a little more challenging. It’s time to put the guitar pick down and pick up a Spanish guitar. Finding out how to learn-spanish-guitar”>Learn Spanish Guitar!
should be easy for you since you already play guitar, but you may yet be surprised at the complexity of the Spanish, or Classical guitar.

Since you already know how to play the electric and acoustic guitar, we can move towards discovering the difference between them and the Spanish guitar. The first thing you will notice after pick up your new Spanish guitar is that the strings are all nylon instead of the metal found on electric or acoustic. This is so that you are able to manipulate the guitar strings better when you are plucking the strings to produce the unique tone and timbre of the Spanish guitar. Unlike the acoustic or electric guitar that is played primarily with a guitar pick, the Spanish guitar is played by plucking the strings with your fingers. In this way, the musician has a stronger control over the tone and timbre of the notes produced. For instance, the musician can choose how hard to pluck the strings, with which finger to pluck the strings, choice to use the finger nail or not, and any desired note can be played in different positions along the strings.

By plucking the stings rather than strumming chords, the sound produced is actually more similar to that of a piano where the pianist plays a variety of single notes that blend together to produce a present melody. It is for this reason that the Spanish guitar is more common amongst orchestras in modern times because it cleanly blends with the other instruments within the orchestra to produce a desired effect. For people that are new to music, an instructor is a must when it comes time to find out how tolearn-spanish-guitar”>Learn Spanish Guitar!
but with the basics know from playing other guitars, the Spanish guitar is within reach through online tutorials and YouTube videos.

Singer Bonnie Raitt mentioned, “It’s a shame we are depriving so many California kids on the positive aspects of music in educational facilities.” She stated that just about every child deserves the chance to produce their fullest with a well-rounded education, which includes the arts.

To that end, the California Arts Council spearheaded the California Music Project (CMP), a 401(c)(3) nonprofit, long-term initiative. The California educational institutions, music business executives, along with the council will function together via the CMP to bring a lot necessary revenues and music applications back into the California educational facilities. The objectives in the CMP are to:

• Provide grant funding to music teachers, music experts, and also the California colleges to bring far more music leaning to college students;

• Develop joint ventures with universities, companies, foundations and music-focused organizations to fund, pilot and expand music applications inside of the California colleges; and

• Serve as an advocate to both the public and private sectors to further music as a core discipline, to ensure that each and every California schools students has equal access.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger proposed and approved a state spending budget using the California educational institutions slated to receive an estimated $105 million in ongoing funding for arts education. That may be an estimated $17-18 per student. Integrated is often a one-time allocation of $500 million for arts, music and physical education and learning equipment. Yet, it will not be adequate to reverse the tremendous, nearly ten-year decline of music education and learning inside the California schools. The California colleges remain underfunded and understaffed in music education.

The CMP plans to heighten awareness and raise funds by way of all-star music CDs with top California performers, specific events, and concerts close to the state.

The very first CD is scheduled for release in late October. Artists, publishers and labels donate all of the songs and performances, with proceeds going for the CMP. It functions a variety of genres from 18 California singers, musicians and bands. Incorporated are: Los Lobos, Leela James, Beck, Dwight Yoakam, Warrne Zevon, Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and others.

The artists are extremely passionate about their perform and wish to see California colleges students get some on the same attention they received although growing up all-around music. Working with the CMP, the artists may perhaps get their wish.

Guitar scales are the single most important technique to help develop individual finger strength and develop your ears to recognize musical patterns. Scales are also the basic foundation for guitar soloing. If you know a scale like the minor pentatonic scale, you merely need to add marginal improvisation and it already sounds like 80% of guitar solos.

Here are the five base scales you will want to learn:

- Major

- Minor

- Major Pentatonic

- Minor Pentatonic

- Blues

In my personal experience, scales are great for speed building and helped me to improvise and play riffs and short solo’s on the spot.

Whether you need to learn guitar scales depends on what type of musician you want to be. Do you want to write your own stuff or play with a band? Scales give you a view of what notes fit along with what progressions. If you just want to be a rhythm guitar player who just plays other peoples stuff then you might not want to bother with them.

If you know your scales, then when you perform with a bunch of musicians, and they tell you the song is a certain key, you’ll know which notes to play.

If you understand just the basic major and minor scales, you can understand how to make any type of chord, create melodies, and harmony parts, as well as lead parts and solos, and NEVER hit a note that doesn’t sound right.

Most people that don’t learn scales will eventually learn these patterns on their own, but it normally takes longer, and they cant convey their ideas as easily as somebody who knows the names of all these things.

Scales are the entire basis of western harmony. Learning the scales will acclimatize you to most of the ins and outs of rock musical harmony. it would in all probability also be worth it to learn the other modes as well (major and minor are just ionian and aeolian).

Believe me, ITS WORTH THE EFFORT.

Take a look at my review of Guitar Scale Mastery and find out if learning guitar scales could assist your guitar performing.

Who on earth would want a jukebox in their home in the twenty first century? That’s what you are actually going to have to listen to if you try to talk your husband, wife or partner into buying a full blown retro jukebox. They might have a point or do they? Full size jukeboxes are considered by some people as outdated and defunct. Only a few establishments still have them in place, nobody really knows if they are still functioning or not unless they drop a coin into the slot and make their selection.

But, if like me you are a nostalgic person and would love to have this fabulous piece of music history and memories of the golden days around the house, you can surely convince him or her and go get yourself the jukebox that you dream of. The great thing about jukeboxes is that they are really good looking with all the coloured lights and bright chrome features that they have. Manufacturers over the years have made a lot of effort to make the jukeboxes look as eyecatchingly good as possible to give them that happy, party look and feel.

Although jukeboxes are not supposed to be popular anymore you will be surprised when your friends and family come to visit just to see your new jukebox . We all love to feel nostalgic about the good times in years past when everything was just plain and simple. Parties will be even more fun when your guests gather around the jukebox and sing and dance to the tracks that they have chosen – usually golden memories! A jukebox is not just a talking point, one can get any party into full swing!

They are also a great gift idea for loved ones. For teenagers a table top CD playing jukebox could be just the thing to delight them. For us grown ups either a full sized retro will bring back and make good memories, or a mini model could be just the ticket.

A Jukebox could look great in your home. If your rooms aren’t large enough for a full sized jukebox there are plenty of good looking, functionable, modern table top jukeboxes to choose from. Just take a look around on the Internet and you will find a large variety to choose from.

Or, it is even possible to still be able to find original jukeboxes from 50 years ago and in working condition. You can think of one as a piece of beloved old furniture you might inherit from your grand parents. Like things that run in families, a jukebox is like buying an old classic car, or an old painting. Certainly it is a good investment of money, apart from the fun and entertainment to be had; twenty years from now it could be worth a lot.

Chords and scales are the biggest important part of learning to play the guitar. There are literally thousands of chords and not all of them are necessary. You need to be familiar with A B C D E F G and their minors as well. Once you have those down, you need to learn 7th chords. Those are the most basic chords you want to know.

If all you want is the pictures for guitar chords, the best place to go to is:

http://www.all-guitar-chords.com

This will show you more chords than you will need to know or use.

There is an easy way to learn chords that just requires learning a few chords and the notes of the 5th and 6th strings (the two low strings).

Go to website cited and look at the E Major chord. The picture doesn’t show the fingerings, but the text books normally state to set the first finger on the third string, the second finger on the fifth string, and the third finger on the fourth string.

What you can do instead, is to lift up the first finger and use the second finger on the third string, the third finger on the fifth string, and the little finger on the fourth string.

While holding the fingers on the strings, run them up the neck to another place and set the first finger across the strings, forming a bar, at the fret below the second finger. The strings that were earlier being played open, are now being played at the first finger bar.

This now allows you to play any major chord by moving the chord to a different fret. The root note of the chord is on the sixth string, meaning you will have to learn the notes on the sixth string.

Open – E. 1st fret – F. 3rd – G. 5th – A. 7th – B. 8th – C. 10th – D. 12th – back to E and so on. The sharp and flat notes fall at the frets in between. So if you’re first finger bar is at the fifth fret, you are playing the A Major chord.

Now take a look at the E Minor chord. It’s the same chord but with the third string now played open. You can use the same principle to play this Minor chord at any fret on the guitar neck.

Next take a look at the E7 chord, not the Emaj7, this is a different chord. Once More, it’s the same as the E Major chord, this time it’s the fourth string that’s played open. And again, it can be played at any place on the neck.

You can now play any Major, Minor, or 7th chord by just learning one chord and moving up or down the neck.

If you don’t want to keep moving your hands up and down the neck so much to change chords, you can use another chord formation.

This time, take a look at the A Major chord. Here you can see that the root note is on the fifth string. Instead of holding the three notes down with individual fingers, I place the third finger across the three strings and use the first finger to bar the remaining strings.

You might find that the first string gets muted playing the chord this way. It just takes practice, but if you are playing rock with distortion, it might not matter too much. Also note, it shows that you don’t play the sixth string. You can because that note is part of the chord. The reason they show the sixth string as not played is because, in theory, the lowest note played must be root note of the chord, which is the fifth string.

So, whether you play the sixth string or not is up to you. Whether the first string is played or muted, again it’s up to you.

To use this chord, you need to learn the notes on the fifth string.

Open – A. 2nd fret – B. 3rd – C. 5th – D. 7th – E. 8th – F. 10th – G. 12th – back to An and so on.

If you’re playing a G chord at the third fret with the E style chord, you don’t have to go all the way up to the eighth fret to play C. Just pick up the third and little fingers and set the third finger down across the second, third, and fourth strings, with the first finger still maintaining the bar at the third fret.

You can do the same with the A Minor chord and A7 chord. You should be getting the idea now.

An easier way to play the A7 chord is to leave the third finger bar in place from the A Major chord and lay the little finger on the third fret of the first string. This still gives the A7 chord and can still be played at different positions on the neck.

Now on to power chords. These are real easy. Let’s say you want a G power chord. Find the G note on the sixth string which is at the third fret. Put your first finger there. Place your third finger two frets up on the fifth string which is the fifth fret. This is your G power chord.

This is actually a G5 chord, technically. If you know your major scales, the note on the fifth string is the fifth note of the major scale.

This can also be done up and down the fret board.

You can also do this using the fifth and fourth strings with the note on the fifth string being the root note.

You can also do the power chords with three strings. With the G power chord, place the third finger over both the fifth and fourth strings at the fifth fret. This extra note on the fourth string is another G note an octave higher.

With the fifth string root note power chord, move the third finger down on to the fourth string and leave the first finger barring both the fifth and sixth strings. The extra note on the sixth string is another fifth note of the major scale an octave lower.

Couple of with the things that you’ve to keep in mind whenever you start playing the guitar is that you simply should have a excellent position to sit and be extremely comfortabl. One in the easiest techniques to start playing the guitar is to study how to read guitar tabs. The very first point that everybody wants to do when they start playing the guitar is usually to study a few very good tunes and also the furthest factor from your mind is the importance to understand guitar scales.

A individual need to have got the time to invest for his / her guitar lessons and recognize that by exercising and learning the primary approaches slowly so he or she will recognize the procedure that is essential to master it and be skillful at it. Here are a few hints for novices on tips on how to perform the guitar:

1. It’s important that people find out how you can hold on for the guitar the right way. A personal is recognized like a guitarist based on how the individual holds the guitar. He of she should think of that when sitting down the place should all from the times be cozy with his pose and to sit leaning forwards.

2.Anytime the person is sitting down on a chair, she or he have to reside the body with the guitar on one of his or her legs wherever it is at ease and simpler to perform. Whenever the personal is right-handed, it means that her or his proper leg will probably be the a single carrying the guitar, when those left-handed individuals will rest the body on their left legs.

3.A man or women should concentrate in his / her fretting hand so the person need to location her or his hand wherever he or she has the closest reach towards the neck in the guitar specially when the individual is sitting down. Don’t forget to position the thumb with the fretting hand on the back from the neck from the guitar. The fingers have to have to be inside a curling location where by they are positioned above the strings on the guitar.

4.The person ought to be doing various sorts of picking practises to much better his picking abilities. Do not concern you are self about how fast you perform as being a novice, what is critical would be to play smoothly and slow and carry through the correct musical notes with clarity and precision.

Whenever you perform the guitar it can provide a good deal of fun for a specific. Guitar playing could be quick as long as the interest last and commitment are maintained. A man or women can play the guitar well and in a lot of means but is critical that he or she is secure and enjoys what he / she is doing.

There are a few questions that people ask when thay are thinking about learning to play the guitar.

The first, and most obvious question is:
How to learn guitar?

There are a number of ways to learn to play the guitar:

1)Get a friend to show you.
This is a great idea just to get someone to show you at least how to hold the guitar and how to play the strings and hold down the strings at the frets. This is a good way to get started if you’re just beginning and have not picked up a guitar before and won’t cost you anything. Don’t rely on this method alone though. Just get the very basics and then start to teach yourself from the other ways available. You can always let your friend show you some tips and tricks later on when they have time.

2)Buy a book.
This is ok to show you how to hold and play the guitar, but not as good as having someone in front of you showing you. It’s not free unless you can acquire a good book from the library. The cost of guitar books varies from cheap to pricey, you might be able to find them at charity shops. I’ve found that books are good for learning theory. Depending on what style of guitar you want to learn, you might not need to learn much theory. The more theory you can learn the better, but you can always do that as you are advancing.

3)Purchase a video or DVD.
I’ve never been a big a fan of utilising this method exclusively. Sat in front of the television screen or computer screen watching someone tell you to place this finger here and that finger there. It’s good for showing you the basics of playing the guitar and some techniques such as bends, slides, and hammer ons, etc.

4)Pay a guitar instructor to teach you.
This could be the most costly way to learn the guitar. I’ve seen friends and relatives children play songs better than me and I’ve felt pretty stupid. But, that’s all they’ve been learnt, merely songs. I console myself by saying yes, you can play that song, but how much has it cost your parents. I’ve watched a video of a friends girl performing on stage with other students and she played a popular song note perfect, even the solo. She actually played it better than the original guitarist used to play it live. But all she was doing was playing notes that she’d learnt parrot fashion. There wasn’t even any emotion or enthusium on her face. If somebody said play that in a different key or create your own solo, she probably wouldn’t have been able to. By the way, the guitar lessons have ended and I don’t think she plays the guitar much now.

5)Learn off the internet.
This can be free, cheap, or expensive. There’s so much information on learning to play the guitar on the internet, this must be a great reference. Once you can hold and play your guitar, or even before, explore the internet for free on-line courses. When you’re ready, there’s a lot of good low cost and free stuff that will improve your playing. Don’t be tricked into paying for expensive courses that you can’t afford or don’t need though. Learning to play the guitar off the internet has all of the the advantages of the other methods. You can learn as little or as much theory as you want . You can have someone on the computer screen in front of you showing what to do and how to do it. You can download the information on to your computer to do it in your own time and at your own pace. You can download the guitar tabs to songs you want to learn.

How hard is it to learn to play guitar?
It’s not difficult at all. It just depends on how much you want to learn it. When I told my brother I wanted to learn the guitar, he was already playing bass guitar in a group, he told me it’s easier to learn the piano. It might be but I didn’t want to play the piano. Actually, it’s far easier playing guitar with guitar tabs than it is the piano with standard music notation.

How long does it take to learn how to play guitar?
As much time as you put into it. It’s a process and you will never perfect it, so the time is forever. But to get just enough to know how to play many songs, not that long, just a total of several hours. But if you want to become an artist, write songs, etc. That takes the time and passion. And when you have the passion the time gets away from you.

If you’re thinking about learning the guitar, or want to improve your guitar performing, get a look at Learn Guitar to see reviews on internet guitar courses.

The name jukebox is said to be derived from African languages. Some think that Juke comes from the African word jooy which means wicked. Others say that it comes from the word joog which means dance. Without live acts jukeboxes became one of the best things to get people up dancing for nearly a century now. People loved the music to be found on them and anybody who wants to pay for the privilidge is in control of what everybody in the room is listening to. The invention brought them closer to their favorite artists. The ones they like to know their songs by heart.

Jukebox manufacturers were well aware that folk will always love to have the most well known and successful music on jukeboxes. The more successful the artist and his track are the more likely it is for them to be on the playlist and be selected over and over again. Making a jukebox with popular selections more profitable for the bar or cafe owners and for the rental agencies.

Many songs have been played on them over the years, and still lingered in the memories with the help of jukeboxes. Sadly it’s said that their golden era is now over. Yet many public places still have them and you can play the most popular music on them and even sometimes find old favourites like Bohemian Rhapsody or Living On A Prayer.

To pick all time favorites that have been played as jukebox hits is a very difficult task as many songs are in the memories of a lot of people out there. Everybody would have their own personal list and often very different from anybody elses. As full size bold and colourful jukeboxes are the most evocative of the 1950s the following is a list of some of the all time favourites that would have been selected danced, sung to and enjoyed in bars, diners and cafes all over the world during the 1950s .

Picture the guys dressed in jeans and white t shirts with their hair styled with plenty of grease to make a DA or Duck’s Butt and the pony tailed girls wearing bobby sox and poodle skirts. We’ve got the 50s feel so let’s select the tracks that would have been popular on the 50s rock and roll jukebox.

1 – Peggy Sue – Buddy Holly and the Crickets 1957

2 – Heartbreak Hotel – Elvis Presley 1956

3 – Johnny B. Goode – Chuck Berry 1958

4 – Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On – Jerry Lee Lewis

5 – All I Have to Do Is Dream – The Everly Brothers 1958

6 – Rock Around The Clock – Bill Haley & The Comets 1955

7 – Be Bop A Lu La – Gene Vincent 1956

8 – Blueberry Hill – Fats Domino 1957

9 – To Know Him Is To Love Him – The Teddy Bears 1958

10 – Sea Cruise – Frankie Ford 1959

That wasn’t easy. I’ve had to miss out such as Great Balls Of Fire by Jerry Lee Lewis, Pat Boone’s Aint That A Shame, The Great Pretender from the Platters and That’ll Be The Day from Buddy Holly And The Crickets. That’s rock and roll folks!

CHICAGO (AP) — Police searching for fugitive sex offenders, violent criminals and gang members made more than 35,000 arrests nationwide during an annual monthlong crackdown — the most in the roundup’s 5-year history and nearly double the number from last year — authorities announced Thursday.

The U.S. Marshals Service said the latest “Operation Falcon” captured 433 murder suspects and 900 gang members. Many of the fugitives were arrested on weapons and narcotics charges. The roundup also netted nearly 5,800 violent criminals along the U.S.-Mexico border, an area that has seen a spike in violence in recent months.

“Conducted during the month of June, it (Operation Falcon) has set the record for the largest number of violent criminals to be captured during a 30-day period,” U.S. Marshals Director John Clark said at a news conference in Chicago.

Officials said a major reason for the increase in arrests since the program’s inception in 2005 — there were 19,000 arrests last year — is that more law enforcement agencies are participating.

William Sorukas Jr., chief of domestic investigation for the Marshals Service, said 600 additional departments were involved this year, bringing the total to 2,224 local, state and federal agencies.

Clark said more than 5,000 police officers and sheriff’s deputies were temporarily made deputy marshals, allowing them to move across county and state boundaries in search of fugitives.

The operation also resulted in the recovery of nearly 600 firearms and more than $342,000 in cash, according to the Marshals Service.

Among those captured was a North Carolina man charged with raping a 12-year-old girl, a California gang member charged in a drive-by shooting that left one rival gang member dead and another injured, and a Florida man charged in a triple murder.

Officials said a handful of arrests were made outside the country, including that of a man in the Dominican Republic who was suspected in the rape of a minor and 25 other sex charges in Florida.

At least one arrest stemmed from crimes that occurred outside the United States. A man taken into custody in New Jersey is suspected of using his position as a police officer in Poland to allow a prostitution ring to operate. Authorities say the man was involved in smuggling underage girls from Romania to Poland and forcing them to become prostitutes.

Clark and others noted that though successful, “Operation Falcon” is impossible to run year-round, in large part because the agencies are busy with their own programs and do not have the resources to participate in a national crackdown for more than a limited time.

William Kushner, the police chief in nearby Berwyn, said most departments in the nation have no more than 50 officers and are stretched so thin that it is difficult, if not impossible, to take officers away from their normal duties.
